Christmas Pudding Bowls

Use

Bowls and lids are normally used with recipes requiring cooking in water or steam ovens.

Bowls and Lids are not affected by microwaves.

General

In all considered applications it is recommended that trials be carried out by the end user to determine suitability of the bowls and lids.

It is important that the cooking temperatures are not allowed to increase much above the heat distortion temperature of polypropylene and this is particularly important when considering microwave use, particularly if the recipe contains for example, high levels of sugars and fats.

If lids are applied during cooking, it is recommended that these are eased on removal from the heat source to prevent the possibility of vacuum inside the container causing distortion.

The lids are not designed to be an air tight seal.

Technical

Heat distortion temperature @ 0.45Mpa (ISO 75-2) is 85 C

Vicat softening point 10N (ISO 306) is 155 C

The highest temperature in practical use is approximately 105 C. We would, however, advise in every case that the customer performs suitability tests with these goods.
